We’ve seen loads of Directioners complaining about the management, saying that they hate them and that they wish they could stop doing what they’re doing to the boys (which is ‘taking over’ them), etc (x), (x). So, instead of just complaining about it, why not do something about it?

We came up with this idea in 2012 when they were in the USA for the first time as a band and we could see pictures of them where they would barely smile and others where they looked quite unhappy, and in interviews they acted very professional and serious, without all the banter and cheekiness they always showed in them. Louis has also said before ‘I think that what people might like about us it’s the fact that we are completely ourselves and we’re not trying to be anything, we’re not and that might sometimes be our downfall but you know, we’re just kids.’ when asked if they considered being themselves in front of the media, so there should’ve been no reason for them to NOT act like they always acted in front of the media in the USA and this made Directioners conclude that it could be their management’s fault (x).

The climax was when Directioners knew they were going to be on Nickelodean. They’ve become huge without a Nickelodeon show already, and if they needed to be on TV again couldn’t they just have done another documentary? We would prefer that to them losing both their personalities and the respect of anyone older than 15 by going on a Nickelodeon tv show. If they needed to be on a show they could’ve gone, at least, to MTV, where people will actually like and respect them.

At that point we were very keen on creating this Tumblr but we preferred to wait just a bit longer to see what would happen after. And what happened was the skit on SNL, which is a show for people 18+ (which made Directioners calm down a bit), and then they went to Australia and they drank, took a day off, Harry and Zayn went to the club without management knowing, etc; loads of good things happened that made Directioners not argue about management.

So, what made us conclude that this Tumblr SHOULD be created was that, when they were in New Zealand, it was rumoured that they were forced on a sex ban. If you don’t know what a sex ban is, it means that you can’t have sex with who you want to, and what was worrying about this is that, if it was true, it was a consequence for them being on Nickelodean, to keep their clean cut image and to avoid sexual scandals, so we were a bit scared of what restriction could come next. And also, in our opinion, no one should decide for them who they should have sex with.

I’m sure that the thing that Directioners like the most about them is how they are not like any other band; they’ve given us a different concept of ‘boyband’ and management is making them a boyband just like any other one, taking away from them what they have in special (x).

When they started touring in the USA, management was treating them like little robots. They made them work to exhaustion, they tried to make them famous amongst little children [when it’s not only unnecessary but unwanted], they were trying to take away from them the relationship they have with their fans (they have told Liam to stop tweeting fans so much, they barely let them hug fans), etc; it was being all about the money (‘time is money’; talking to fans is a waste of time) and screw the feelings. They also didn’t seem to understand that this was still very new to them at that time and that they needed to do this in one step at a time, as when they were in the USA not only their lack of excitement was about their ‘be-yourselves’ ban but also about their tiredness of doing so many things at such a fast rate and homesickness (I didn’t mention up there that in signings they looked skinnier), showing visible signs of needing a break and not just from one moment to another do three tours in a row - I mean, for example, Louis has very young sisters.

And now you’re thinking; how exactly can this work? Remembering the ‘KONY 2012’ video, it said that the technologies we have nowadays makes it much easier to spread the word around and to share ideas, and that what was about to happen was that the people (citizens) were becoming a major power, even bigger than their own governments, being able to control their decisions. This can apply to us: we’re a HUGE fandom and if we work together we can make a change (x). We have a plan, and it includes trending topics on Twitter and much more (x).

They have said it before that without us they wouldn’t be here today and we’re the reason why they do what they do for a living, therefore, all together we will have a major influence on them (remember, we’re the consumers of their job) (x).

WE CONCLUDE THAT:

• One Direction has the potential to be taken seriously musically around the world because they are actually talented and great at what they do.
• (x).
• Management have not been acting properly towards 1D.

 OUR EXACT AIMS:

• ‘Small’ change - To inform everybody of how the entertainment industry really works while having a special focus on management teams and an even more special focus on Modest! Management, letting people see in which reality we are living in.
• ‘Medium’ change - To show the boys there are fans that know what goes on behind the scenes and, therefore, that love them and support them while knowing the real them. (Mission accomplished? (x).)
• ‘Big’ change - To have Modest! Management change their attitudes towards One Direction and other clients of theirs OR to have One Direction changing management teams.

1. You need to have a Twitter. As you have seen earlier, our plan also involves trending topics on Twitter. Create an acount, it is easy, free and quick! And after, of course, follow us.
2. For our plan to happen this Tumblr needs to reach 10,000 followers. This is very important because if you only visit the Tumblr without following us, that is not enough because we will only start the plan when we reach the 10,000 followers.
3. Once the Tumblr reaches 10,000 followers, we’ll announce it. Once the plan starts, everything will be arranged with a date.

HAVE IN MIND THAT:

• We’re extremely happy for the boys’ fame; they truly deserve it and we appreciate a lot their hard work. We just think that things could’ve been and can be done in a different way.
• We will not give out the number of followers we have until we reach the 10,000; we don’t think it is right.
• Our Twitter only/mainly works as a way of promoting the Tumblr and for us to, for example, work on trending topics once we start the plan. We might also speak to fans and do small things like that, but nothing much.

We’re a fandom and although we might have many flaws there is ONE thing that unites us all together: our love for Zayn, Niall, Louis, Harry and Liam.

This is not Cheshire’s and Alice’s Tumblr. It is YOUR Tumblr, OUR Tumblr, for each single fan out there, because we are all in this together. LETS DO THIS!
